an eye for detail and the unseen…
Ryan McLaughlin, Photographer
Worthing based Ryan McLaughlin is a conscientious, enthusiastic perfectionist with a burning ambition to push the creative boundaries and succeed in photography.
…Starting at the tender age of 2 with a disposable Kodak film camera, McLaughlin has been fascinated with photography all his life. Being thus driven, by the age of 17, he had his own up-and-running photography business plus portfolio website displaying a selection of his work.
His current photographic work covers a wide spectrum: nature; commercial; fine art landscapes; live music concerts; weddings; portraits, both on location and in the studio; underwater assignments; maternity documentation; private parties and corporate events. He thrives on variety and is always up for a challenge.
He has lately been very busy in the Worthing area; covering the Worthing and Hove Olympic Torch relay which featured stunt performer Eddy Kidd; shooting for the annual Splash FM Garden Party in Worthing’s Steyne Gardens – his photos were published in the Worthing Essential Magazine. He has been photographer at press shoots with models such as Katie Price to promote her new boutique range, along with other local models, and was commissioned to be Worthing’s ‘Official Club Photographer’ documenting Worthing nightlife and club life for promotional purposes.
…“My most recent project was to provide photographs for marketing a yacht for a commercial broker. This involved interior photography of the yacht in port, and action photography sailing at sea.”
A testament to his work ethic and desire to bring the best to his craft is that he’s qualified as a PADI Open water and dry suit scuba diver, making him proficient in underwater photography. Another string to McLaughlin’s bow is video production which has been popular with artists wanting music videos, this skill has also broadened his remit for weddings and events “Documentary videos at parties can be a nice touch alongside the stills.”
When asked what subject matter or style he favours most, McLaughlin commented “I’m still in constant search to find my niche. One could argue: why have a niche, it may negatively channel my ability to be creative!”
Any new projects on the horizon? “I’m in line to shoot the Virgin Media Festival on and off stage and in the dressing room with successful artists such as Beyonce, Kings Of Leon, The Script, Calvin Harris, Emile Sande, Rita Ora and other world class artists.”
…Somehow I don’t think this is the last we’ll hear of Ryan McLaughlin.

“Photography is a gift that can be shared with others, by capturing their precious moments – to last forever.”
