The Gielgud Academy of Performing Arts

The Gielgud Academy of Performing Arts (GAPA) welcomes a very special guest to its faculty for Spring Term 2017. Dr Ross McKim has been the Artistic Director of the legendary Rambert School for the last thirty years and now joins GAPA to teach contemporary dance classes. McKim was recently the subject of a documentary made by Gielgud Films called ‘The Gospel of Ross McKim’. It was selected for the prestigious Raindance Film Festival in London and won ‘Best Feature’ and Female Filmmaker’ for Director Suzanne Gielgud, at the Hollywood International Independent Documentary Awards in October 2016.

As well as GAPA’s link to Gielgud Films, the pupils also benefit from its link to Gielgud Management, which is one of the leading theatrical agencies in the UK for professional dancers, singers and actors. The agency has been running since 1996 and provides clients for West End shows, ballet and contemporary companies and film and TV. It also represents a selection of GAPA pupils for work in the profession, some of whom are currently on tour in Billy Elliot and acting in the TV drama du jour, The Crown.

Based in Haywards Heath, Sussex, The Gielgud Academy runs dance and drama classes for children from age 3-18 on Saturdays and weekday evenings. For enquiries about a free taster day please email
