London Handel Festival
Founded in 1978 London Handel Festival continues to bring the work of this great baroque composer to modern audiences.
A wide variety of concerts and talks take place at venues across London over a six-week season from 3rd March to 18th April. Singers are also afforded the opportunity to compete in the prestigious Handel Singing Competition.

This year we are delighted to contrast intimate chamber works with the full regal sound of Handel’s Oratorios. In the tercentenary year of the Hanoverian succession we reflect on Handel’s choice (so lucky for us!) of London as his home. The finalists from 2013 Handel Singing Competition give a programme of cantatas and we have two royal works in Deborah and the jewel in the crown, Arianna in Creta, our annual collaboration with the Britten International Opera School. Selina Cadell directs, bringing her phenomenal acting experience coupled with her specialist skills as a director of Restoration drama.
We are delighted also to welcome The Bach Players and La Serenissima for the first time, and to welcome back La Nuova Musica and Southbank Sinfonia. We also have two oratorios, Deborah and Israel in Egypt; the winner of the Göttingen Historical Music Series, Ensemble Cafébaum; the Lunchtime Series; three Fringe concerts; seven Mayfair Organ Concerts; five talks and four walks, not to forget the Handel Singing Competition – definitely something for everyone.
We look forward to seeing you! www.london-handel-festival.com
