Open Studio: Porcelain lighting handmade on Shoreham Beach

Tucked slightly off the beach in an unassuming cul-de-sac, you’ll find Amy Frankie Smith and her porcelain studio full of innovative lighting.

“I fell in love with porcelain, its softness, its pure white tones and most of all its delicious translucency. When porcelain ceramic is very thin the light shines through it, giving a beautiful, warm diffused light’, explains Amy.

Amy’s hand crafted lights showcase the natural quality of translucency in porcelain. Beautifully simple designs are brought to life with delicate attention to detail and the precision required to handle this, the finest of clays.
